Living With Purpose: A Journey to Guyana

Written by Admin | October 23, 2025

At Counterweight Private Wealth, we believe that true wealth extends far beyond financial statements and investment portfolios. It's measured in the intentionality with which we live our lives, the impact we make on others, and the legacy we build through our actions.

This philosophy isn't just something we encourage in our clients, it's a principle we actively try to embrace ourselves.

When Purpose Takes Flight

This past summer, Director of Client Services, Carroll Davis, demonstrated what living with intention truly looks like. While many of us spend our vacation time recharging on beaches or exploring new cities, Carroll chose a different path, one that would change her perspective on wealth, blessing, and what matters most.

"This past August, I had the incredible opportunity to travel to Guyana, South America, on a mission trip," Carroll reflects. "While I had some idea of what to expect, I was unprepared for how deeply the children and the people there would touch my heart. We visited various orphanages, helping with repairs and painting, and we also led vacation Bible school sessions for the children."

The True Return on Investment

In our relationships with clients approaching retirement or navigating significant financial transitions, we often discuss the concept of purpose-driven wealth. We work with them to help answer the question: What will you do with your time, your resources, and your influence once you've achieved financial success?

Carroll's journey to Guyana embodies the answer many of our clients are seeking, the understanding that our greatest investments are the ones we make in people and the communities around us.

"The experience was a powerful reminder of how truly blessed I am," she shares. "Not only did we make an impact on the children's lives, but they profoundly impacted mine as well. I will always cherish every hug, every song, every dance, and every smile."

Planning for What Matters Most

As we help clients prepare for life's major transitions such as selling a business, taking a company public, or entering retirement, we encourage them to think beyond the numbers. We ask them to envision a life of significance, where their wealth becomes a tool for creating meaningful experiences and lasting impact.

Carroll's mission trip reminds us all that living intentionally isn't something that waits for retirement. It's a choice we make today, with the resources and time we have right now.

At Counterweight Private Wealth, we're honored to work alongside many clients who share these values. People of character and integrity who understand that the best financial plan is one that serves a greater purpose. We don't just manage wealth; we help families deploy it in ways that align with their deepest values and create the legacy they envision.

Because at the end of the day, the most valuable return isn't measured in percentages, it's measured in hugs, songs, dances, and smiles that last a lifetime.
